Small, Semi-Double Flowers in Orchid Pink Bloom During Autumn

The tantalizing October Magic® Orchid™ Camellia injects a bit of color into your fall garden! Just like its name, it adds shifting white and pink hues to the autumn season, long after most other camellias are done.

This compact plant has orchid-pink, semi-double blooms and evergreen leaves, so you’re never without a lovely color in your garden. Plant it in hedges, accents, borders, as privacy plantings, and so much more.

Plus, it’s a hardy, low-maintenance plant that withstands deer, drought, and cold, while giving you a conical form with small but mighty flowers. Its narrow size makes it great for any small space in your garden, patio, or yard.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Before planting, water the area well. Choose a location that receives full sun to partial shade. Dig a hole that is twice the width of the plant’s pot. When planting, place the plant 1 to 2 inches above the surrounding soil level, and then backfill the hole with soil. Water deeply to help settle the plant, and add more soil if necessary. Finally, apply mulch about 1 to 2 inches deep around the plant, being careful to keep the mulch away from the area closest to the stem.

2. Watering: Water your new plantings regularly during their first growing season. Use a well-drained soil medium when planting any Camellia, as they prefer less watering than you might think.

3. Fertilizing: Fertilize annually in late spring.

4. Pruning: If you are pruning to maintain a specific size or shape, it is best to do so in early spring before the new growth begins to appear.
