Bright and Vigorous Reblooming Daylily

Enjoy months of cheerful yellow flowers! The Happy Returns Daylily lives up to its name, as this popular daylily will put a smile on your face from spring through early fall. This lovely perennial has an extra long re-blooming period, producing waves of dazzling lemon-yellow blossoms beginning in June and lasting until the first frost.

Happy Returns’ fragrant flowers are a welcome sight to pollinators all season long! Butterflies and hummingbirds flock to the golden yellow bells, which sit atop vibrant green foliage. It is tolerant of heat and drought, and is incredibly low maintenance.

Compact and cold-hardy, Happy Returns is the perfect fit for any small space in your landscape. Brighten up garden beds, tuck into borders, use as ground cover, or opt for container planting. No matter where it is added, Happy Returns will add a dash of cheer! Order yours today!

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Select an area with full sun (anywhere that receives 6 to 8 hours of sunlight per day) for your Happy Returns daylily.

To plant in the ground, select an area with well-drained soil, dig a hole large enough to accommodate the root ball, then place your plant. Finally, backfill the soil and water the area to settle the roots.

To container plant, select a pot that’s about twice the size of your plant’s shipped container, use organic soil, and place your plant with the soil in its new pot. Ensure your new pot has drainage holes.

2. Watering: Generally, you’ll want to water your daylily about once a week. If you’re not sure when to water your plant, simply check the surrounding soil for dryness about 2 inches down.

3. Fertilizing: Apply mulch to a depth of about 2 inches in northern areas. Adding a slow-release fertilizer at the base of the plant’s root ball will encourage repeat blooms during the growing season.

4. Pruning: Daylily care involves annual pruning to remove dead foliage and flower stalks. You can deadhead spent flower blossoms to encourage re-blooming and maintain the desired size and shape. Cut back spent flower stems after the flowering period.
