Transform your garden into a showstopping paradise with the Blue Chiffon® Hibiscus, an award-winning shrub with incredible resilience. This versatile, low-maintenance plant is the perfect addition to any landscape, whether as a striking centerpiece or a vibrant flowering hedge.

Each summer through fall, the Blue Chiffon produces large, double-blue-lavender flowers with a lacy center. Honored with the Silver Medal from the Royal Boskoop Horticultural Society and the 2012 RHS Award of Garden Merit, this shrub is a proven garden favorite that offers beauty and reliable performance.

The Blue Chiffon is as tough as it is beautiful. Heat, drought, and salt tolerant, this hibiscus thrives in tough soil conditions. It’s also pollinator-friendly, attracting butterflies, hummingbirds, and other beneficial insects.

Whether you’re creating a colorful border or simply adding a pop of vibrant blue to your landscape, the Blue Chiffon® Hibiscus makes an excellent addition. Grow your Blue Chiffon® Hibiscus today!

About Proven Winners®: Proven Winners® ColorChoice Shrubs offers flowering shrubs, evergreens, and trees that have been tested for eight to ten years to ensure they outperform conventional varieties. That means bigger flowers, more colorful foliage, reblooming, disease resistance, new habits, or anything that makes them more beautiful and easier to grow in your landscape or garden.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Choose a location that receives at least 6 hours of sunlight with well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice as wide and as deep as the root ball. Place the plant in the hole, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. Backfill with soil, tamp down gently, and water thoroughly.

2. Watering: Water deeply immediately after planting. Keep the soil consistently moist for the first few weeks to help the plant establish roots. Once established, water only during dry spells, as the Blue Chiffon® Hibiscus is drought-tolerant.

3. Fertilizing: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to promote growth and blooms. Avoid over-fertilizing, as this can lead to fewer flowers. A layer of compost around the base can also enhance soil health.

4. Pruning: Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth appears. Remove dead or damaged wood and shape the plant as needed. Minimal pruning is required, as this shrub naturally maintains a neat, rounded form.
