Fragrant, Fall-Blooming Camellia
Camellia sasanqua ‘Setsugekka’ adds a touch of refinement and elegance wherever it is planted. This evergreen shrub produces semi-double showy white flowers that boast ruffled edges and bright golden yellow stamens. Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant in an area that receives at least 4 to 6 hours of sunlight per day and has well-drained, rich, acidic soil.
Dig a hole twice the size of your plant’s root ball. Backfill the soil and water to establish.
2. Watering: Water deeply and regularly during the first growing season to establish an extensive root system. Then, reduce the frequency once established. If you’re unsure when to water, poke your finger three inches down. If it’s dry, it’s time to water.
3. Fertilizing: Apply an acid-rich fertilizer after your camellias bloom.
4. Pruning: Only prune after flowering to avoid removing any of the current season’s flowers.
